A Complete Guide To Arranging Your Cushions

A Complete Guide To Arranging Your Cushions

Did you know that there are many ways you can arrange and style your cushions? The way you choose to arrange your cushions can significantly impact the look and feel of the room.

Today, we will show you some of the different types of cushion arrangements by style, including traditional, modern, and bohemian, so you can achieve the look you want for your space.

Traditional

When arranging cushions, you want the arrangement to fall in line with the rest of the space’s style to create a very cohesive look. For a more traditional look and one often considered to be more minimalist, consider pairing two cushions for a sleek and chic aesthetic.

You can create a cohesive look using matching fabrics or draw the eye with contrasting fabrics. Place each matching cushion side by side in the centre, leaving a proportional gap between them.

When choosing cushions for a more traditional style, consider the other pieces of furniture in the space and try to pull in some of the same colours. When arranging cushions, you can also choose two cushions with the same print on either side of a different solid or patterned print in the middle.

Modern

If you are a minimalist wanting to achieve a more modern style when arranging cushions, then don’t feel the need to overstuff your sofa with cushions. Pick up to three cushions and create an asymmetrical arrangement.

You can choose three matching cushions and then throw in a cushion with a contrasting colour to add a pop of colour or texture. It is still considered minimal, without overtaking the space and keeping the modern aesthetic you want.

To complete the modern look with your cushions, don’t be afraid to choose cushions with a more obvious colour or texture to achieve this contrast.

Bohemian

When going for a more Bohemian style, you aren’t afraid to be a little over the top. So, go ahead and match patterns, colours, and textures as much as you want. Pom poms and tassels are also a great touch when going for this style.

When going bohemian, you should also consider having a more cohesive colour scheme or some feeling of coordination to keep the space from feeling too chaotic.

You also don’t have to worry about arranging them neatly. When going bohemian, you don’t have to follow a specific and perfect cushion arrangement.
